Labor Day Weekend

Festival Latinoamericano: Centro Hispano is pleased to announce the 10th annual Festival Latinoamericano, which will be held on August 31-September 3, 2012 (closed on Sunday) at the Utah County Historic Courthouse grounds (51 South University Ave.) in downtown Provo, Utah.

For three days, Provo will embody the heart of Latin America. Pulsing rhythms, vibrant dances, delicious food, and colorful costumes will transport you to a Latin getaway in the heart of downtown Provo. Even better, you will become immersed in the wonderful diversity and opportunity of your own community.

Payson Onion Days:  Crafts, carnivals and Parades

Celebration of Cultural Diversity: In partnership with the Downtown Farmers Market, Salaam will be staging its 10th annual free family oriented festival ‘A Celebration of Cultural Diversity’ promoting multiethnic goodwill through sharing of world class performing arts – Jambo Africa Burundi Drummers, Eastern Arts with Central Asian Dances, Kenshin Taiko Japanese Drummers, Bird Show by Avian Sanctuary, Samba Fogo, Sol de Jalisco Mariachi Band, and Rinceoiri Don Spraoi Irish Dancers.

The festival takes place on Saturday September 1, 2012, coinciding with the Downtown Farmers Market at the Pioneer Park south side, 350 S. 300 West, in Salt Lake City from 9am till 1pm.

This year’s highlights include:

Boy Scouts partnering for children’s activities providing a climbing wall.
A Workplace Safety Booth for Utah Labor Commission.
Supporters include SLUG Magazine and Utah Film Center.
Free T-shirts for those who register as supporters at our Salaam Booth.

The festival is funded by Salt Lake County Zoo Arts and Parks, Utah Division of Arts and Museums, and the Salt Lake Arts Council.

Canyons Summer Concert Series: Canyons will once again have our amazing and free Saturday Summer Concert Series. Each Saturday, beginning July 14th and ending September 1, Canyons will have FREE live music from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. The Cabriolet and Frostwood lifts will be open Saturdays at 4:00pm.

Blankets, picnics and chairs will not be allowed in the concert venue until 4:00pm.
